What this covers
This notice explains the cookies and similar storage used on getelink.com, why they are used, and how to control them. It goes with our privacy policy.
Cookies and storage we use
We use no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking pixels. The complete list:

Our own statistics
We measure our own site with a first-party script that records the page viewed, the previous page’s domain, your device type (phone, tablet or desktop) and, on the sports pages, which teams or cities you look up. It does not use cookies, it does not record your IP address (we keep a one-way hash that changes every day), and nothing is shared with advertising networks. It also records when the DIRECTV Stream sign-up link is clicked so we can see which pages are useful.
You can turn this off for your browser at any time:
Third-party services
- Hosting and security. The service that delivers and protects the site sets the security cookies listed above and nothing else.
- YouTube hosts the explainer videos. Videos load only when you press play, through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. Google privacy policy.
- Forms. When you send us a form, the details come straight to the Elink team by email and are stored so we can reply. They are not used for marketing lists.
- Help Center and billing. Our Help Center and online billing run on separate secure pages, which have their own cookie notices.
- DIRECTV. Links to directv.com are affiliate links: Elink is an authorized DIRECTV Stream dealer and may earn a commission if you sign up through them. No data about you is sent to DIRECTV by clicking; DIRECTV’s own site has its own cookies and privacy policy.
How to control cookies
Because we set only strictly necessary cookies, there is nothing to consent to for the site to work; that is why our notice is a short heads-up rather than a consent wall. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge each have a Privacy section), and you can switch off our statistics with the button above. Blocking the security cookie may stop some pages from loading.
Your privacy rights
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context advertising, so there is no “Do not sell or share” setting to make. If you live in a state with a consumer privacy law (for example California, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia or Colorado) you may still ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask for a copy.
